This page contains download links for PuTTY release 0.81.
0.81, released on 2024-04-15, is not the latest release. See the Latest Release page for the most up-to-date release (currently 0.83).
Past releases of PuTTY are versions we thought were reasonably likely to work well, at the time they were released. However, later releases will almost always have fixed bugs and/or added new features. If you have a problem with this release, please try the latest release, to see if the problem has already been fixed.
You probably want one of these. They include versions of all the PuTTY utilities (except the new and slightly experimental Windows pterm).
(You probably want the 64-bit x86 version. The 32-bit version is only for backward compatibility with very old PCs / versions of Windows.)

Ironically, to understand why the official archive was created, one only has to look at the Internet Archive's forums. A user post from 2011 describes the infamous Bedspring Symphony bootleg. Citing the Hot Wacks bootleg bible , the user claimed it was "The best Stones live recording, surpasses even the officially released live albums in quality." These forum discussions preserve the pre-2011 fan culture that ultimately forced the band to open their vaults.
The Rolling Stones on Archive.org isn't just a collection of files; it is a digital museum. It preserves the dangerous, unpredictable energy that defined the band before they became a global stadium institution. Whether you are a lifelong collector or a new fan curious about the Mick Taylor vs. Ron Wood era, the archive is your front-row seat to history.
